Wow, I can't believe he dissed you for saying that you lived with your mother. I'm so sorry about your mother having lung cancer. My mother actually died from breast cancer. You know, it's really common these days for women and even men to still live with their parents. I think it's my generation that gave it the 'go ahead'. lol

You are a single gal's inspiration! Yes, I have done some on-line dating and I did have some good dates and some quite annoying ones. My favorite one was the guy who criticized my living with my mother @35 yrs of age. I walked out before I got to tell him she had terminal lung cancer!

I'm EXTREMELY embarassed to say that I've met someone online...only because I've ONLY met guys from the Internet! Even my high school sweetheart that sat behind me in class couldn't say hi to me in person. It wasn't until we both somehow ended up in a chat room that he actually introduced himself to me. And me being single and having been through a lot of rocky upsets with men I've dated, my family and friends are led to believe that men on the Internet are not ideal; therefore, I don't tell anyone I met "him" from the Internet. Every single date or relationship I've been involved with was somehow dysfunctional and disappointing...all men I met from the Internet. If I told a friend "I met a new guy! He's SO great! He's different than the others..." they immediately ask me "Is he from the Internet?????" I'm comfortable with meeting men off the Internet because NO ONE will approach me in person (unless they're just completely unappealing in my eyes). Even when I go up to men to say hi, they somehow end up further away than where they were originally sitting/standing. It's really hard to say that I completely agree with online dating, but then again, it's hard to say I've been satisfied with "face-to-face" dating either. Common denominator = ME! Maybe I need some assistance??

great post!

From a guy perspective, I'd like to know why chicks always put up photos of pets and children and panoramic views from their last vacation. I'm not dating your last vacation or your kid. I'm dating you.

Also a guy wants to see more than just a head shot. Sorry but if you have a cute face but the rest of you is out of shape I'm gonna find out on that first date anyway so let's save each other the time and effort.

I have a buddy who likes a big booty. I do not. So if you have a big booty let it be known in all it's glory.

a little humorous cynicism definitely goes a long way like your "puking sound effect". I wrote a song about one online dating experience maybe you can relate to it: http://www.markshepardsongs.com/2009/02/giving-up-on-love/
have a great day and keep up the great posts!
-Mark Shepard
